Projected Lack of Behavioral Health Availability in Chaves County

The chart below comes courtesy of the behavioral health working group in Roswell, NM. It shows the status of a variety of behavioral and mental health services in Chaves County before the behavioral health shakeup in January 2013, then in January 2015 and finally in April 2015. The working group anticipates that after the closure of Arizona-based Turquoise Health and Wellness at the end of March, none of these services will be available. A second Arizona-based behavioral health organization, La Frontera, has also announced it will close. Also see our detailed discussion of the Arizona providers and the impact of their New Mexico work back in Arizona.

Before the behavioral health shake-up in 2013, all of the services were fully provided.
