New Mexico Oil, Gas And Wastewater Spills On The Rise

The number of wastewater spills from oil and natural gas production increased 56 percent from 2013 to 2014. Natural gas releases increased 48 percent, and oil spills were up 14 percent. 2015 is on track to see fewer spills than last year. For more detailed reporting, see Rita Daniels’ story on kunm.org.
