Ed Williams came to KUNM in 2014 by way of Carbondale, Colorado, where he worked as a public radio reporter covering environmental issues. Originally from Austin, Texas, Ed has reported on environmental, social justice, immigration and Native American issues in the U.S. and Latin America for the Austin American-Statesman, Z Magazine, NPR’s Latino USA and others. In his spare time, look for Ed riding his mountain bike in the Sandias or sparring on the jiu-jitsu mat.

Marisa Demarco is a journalist, musician and event curator based in Albuquerque, N.M. In December 2012, she co-founded the New Mexico Compass news website at nmcompass.com with Margaret Wright. Since then, she’s helped build and launch several local websites. Demarco’s spent more than a decade in journalism, editing and writing for the Weekly Alibi, the Albuquerque Tribune and UNM’s Daily Lobo. Rashad studied Peace and Conflict studies at UC Berkeley before receiving an M.A. in Arab Studies from Georgetown University. Rashad then worked as an Economic Researcher in Egypt before returning to the US and working for the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). After working on USIP’s Iraq programs from Washington, he worked in Iraq for a year as the Assistant to the Chief of Party. Following an intense year in Iraq assisting with conflict resolution efforts, he returned to Egypt and worked as a journalist with Business Monthly magazine. After moving to Albuquerque, he worked as the Program Outreach Coordinator for Generation Justice, and in December 2014 joined KUNM staff as the Program Coordinator for the Public Health New Mexico project.
